Corporate finance

The corporate finance team specialises in providing financing and advisory solutions to quoted and unquoted companies and their owners across the UK.

We advise companies on their strategic and financing needs at all stages of their development, from early-stage and private equity fundraisings to stockmarket quotations, and from mergers and acquisitions to public-to-private transactions and demergers.

Since January 2007 we have acquired over 87 new quoted clients, completed more than 123 transactions (of which 17 were AIM primary issues (admissions and re-admissions)), and 54 secondary issues. We have transacted on fundraisings totalling over £1.2bn in new funds and advised on approximately £2.0bn of M&A activity.

Corporate broking

Corporate broking helps to manage the relationships between our corporate clients and their major institutional shareholders.

The team is responsible for initial public offerings and secondary fundraisings. In addition, we provide prompt market intelligence to our corporate clients, as well as advice and guidance on how to comply with an ever more complex regulatory environment.

We act for around 96 corporate clients, of which the average market capitalisation is c.£154m. Both the number of clients and the average market capitalisation has more than doubled over the last three years. The companies we act for range from a market cap of c.£5.4bn, all the way down the size scale.
